How we calculate
How the estimate works
The calculator uses the effective coverage of each Colour Frog profile and adds an allowance for real-world roof shapes, so you get a practical starting figure.
Coverage per tile
Each tile covers a set area: Classic Wave 5.06 sq ft, Iron Crystal 5.04 sq ft and Slate Linea 5.10 sq ft (Heritage 4.90 sq ft).
About 22% extra included
We add roughly 22% to allow for hips, valleys, ridges, roof slope and cutting on site.
Flashings and screws
Flashings are estimated at 1 for every 16 tiles, and screws at about 1.22 per sq ft of roof area.
